You’ve no doubt heard of the place, but where actually is Chamonix? Chamonix Mont Blanc is situated in the Haute Savoie region of Eastern France. Located right at the foot of Mont Blanc, close to both the Italian and Swiss borders, it is a dream destination for a winter ski holiday or a summer break in the mountains.
Chamonix is easily accessible from a number of international airports, but Geneva, in Switzerland, is by far the most convenient. At only 100kms away, you can fly there from a number of European destinations, as well as the USA, Asia and the Middle East. Travel to Chamonix from Geneva airport takes around 1 hr 15 minutes by road by airport transfer or hire car, rail from Geneva can take up to 3 hours with a number of changes.
Alternate airports in France are Chambéry (140kms), Lyon (220kms) and Grenoble (225kms), or Turin (175kms) and Milan (235kms) in Italy. However, beware of booking very cheap flight deals to some of these more distant airports without first checking out the price and availability of your onward transfer. You could be in for a rather expensive surprise!!
Airport Transfers
Taking an airport transfer is a convenient way to get from the airport to resort without having to worry about directions or getting lost. Most transfers operate in minibuses and can take up to 8 passengers per van. Depending on your budget, you can choose between a shared or private service, with the latter offering the most efficient way to get you to your accommodation.

Their shared transfers present a cost-effective way to travel to Chamonix from Geneva airport, but if you are travelling as a group of five people or more, then we recommend booking a private van as your most economic and convenient option.
